You might be a redneck if...

You might be a redneck if you spend Christmas day watching the Monster Jam Marathon on the Speed Channel. So, it is official, we are rednecks! Now, you might think that this is because I married a southern boy...but really, I LOVE MONSTER TRUCK RALLY'S!!!! Like, I love them!!! It was really because of me that we spent like 10 hours watching the Monster Jam including the World Cup Final in Las Vegas!!! Now the races aren't very fun...but the freestyle!!!! Yeah buddy!!! So, we had a redneck Christmas of grand proportions!!! Woot woot!!! When Lima Bean Wooten gets old enough, he/she WILL accompany me to the Monster Jam in the nearest city!! :)

I feel good!

Well, several of you have asked me to post how I have been feeling. I feel really good! I had three days of nausea (not in a row) and then have been fine since. My worst morning I went to school (this is before the kids knew) and drank ginger ale and munched on saltines and it finally passed. But my dear sweet husband showed up at lunchtime with flowers and ate lunch with me. :) Gotta love him! The kids were all like, oh my gosh, Chris is so sweet!!! He has a following. The biggest deal is that I have just recovered from my very first boil ever in my life. According to the internet/google...this is VERY common in pregnant women. All I have to say is that I had like 3 days of pain and one of utter misery!!!!! Hot compresses and tears and it burst on it's own in the middle of the night. Of course this was over the weekend and I had no way of contacting my dr. I went to see him this week and he put me on an antibiotic just to be sure it doesn't get infected and cause me and little lima bean any problems. Chris was such a trooper!!! He kept his eye on it, called the dr.'s helpline and asked a bunch of questions, researched what to do and just was there for moral support. I did marry well.

Following the bursting of the boil, we went to Atlanta to shop! We had a really nice day building bears for my niece and nephew, shopping for everyone with gift cards and we went to Bed, Bath and Beyond to buy a new shower curtain and rugs...got home and was ironing it and it has a rip in it!!! This is the most I have ever spent on a shower curtain!!! $40! So, I will be heading back to Atlanta this week to exchange it for one, and you better believe that I will be taking this one out of the package and examining it!!!

Today is Christmas and we woke up this morning full of love! He gave the cats left over ham (Jesus ham as he called it) for Christmas and I have the classroom guinea pigs home and he cut up an apple, thawed some carrots and broccoli and gave them a feast to celebrate Christmas. All the animals in our house then suffered (I use that term loosely) with CBS...Christmas Belly Syndrome. haha!!! We went to Waffle House in Clayton for breakfast (YUM!!! hashbrowns...scattered, smothered and covered!) and then to my parents house for lunch and hang out time. My brother and his family arrive tomorrow and we will either fully celebrate then or on the following morning. Depends on what they want to do.

Nothing else is new. I hope that everyone is enjoying their Christmas and would love to hear how you are doing!!! Drop me a line.

Love to you and yours!

His plan...not mine...

Well, this isn't the way I would have chosen for all of it to happen. This isn't the timing I would have chosen. In fact, I had a plan...it was all nice and clean and relatively safe. Aren't our plans always a little safe? Anyhow, as you know we got married on Oct. 17th about 9 weeks ago...and after our Dr. appointment today it is confirmed that we are about 9 weeks pregnant (if you go from conception...not sure if you know how the pregnancy calculation works from the Dr., but they add two weeks to that time because they go from your last period...so that would be 11 weeks according to the Dr.). I wanted to wait until May or June to start trying to get pregnant...but God had other plans. I would never have chosen to get pregnant while Chris is unemployed, but God had other plans. And as all of us know, His plans are to prosper us (first and foremost spiritually) plans of hope and a future. So, here we go on the trust rollercoaster! haha. Anyhow, we got an ultrasound a month ago and got to see the little flicker of the heartbeat. The baby looked like a lima bean then, and I affectionately call it "Lima Bean Wooten". :) He doesn't really like that I call it that, so when we are together we refer to it as "The little Woot-Woot". haha. He is sooooooooooooo excited! Which helps me to be more excited. It is all still surreal for me. However, we went in today for our second appointment...I thought we would be getting a sonogram, however we misunderstood and they did a doppler of the heartbeat. Our baby has a strong heartbeat (140) and we are excited. Also our doctor said his percentage of c-sections is only about 25-30% and he really prefers to deliver vaginally. We also found out that we will be allowed to use the birthing tub at the hospital. I wasn't sure because we don't have insurance and I qualify for Medic-aid, so I thought maybe the birthing tub might be reserved for those who have good insurance, but nope! Even us poor folk get to use it! woot woot!

I thought I had told more people this, but I guess I didn't. Before I ever even talked to Chris on the phone, I had a dream that I was having his baby in a birthing tub and he was in the tub with me and coaching me and encouraging me. I woke up right as the baby was born. So I have no idea the gender or anything like that. But it was after this dream that I had a strong feeling that he was definitely the one because I have never in my life had a dream like that! Then when I found out that I was pregnant and we have a birthing tub here locally...I almost died! I was like, wow, Lord, you are crazy cool! Because the birthing tub is new here. Like within the last year. :)

So that is my exciting news! I will keep you posted as to how we are doing. I will say I am so impatient and can NOT wait to find out if it is a girl or a boy!!!! Please keep Chris in your prayers as he had a job interview on Tues. and should find out tonight or tomorrow if he got the job. We really need him to get this job!

Christmas time

Well, Christmas is right around the corner and we have decided not to send out cards this year. Postage is just too expensive and with all of the other mail I have had to send out in the recent months, I just can't seem to bring myself to spend another $30+ on stamps. Also, while I have not been blogging per say, I have been sending out news bulletins so frequently that I don't even know what new news to put on a Christmas card. So, I apologize for being such a putz this year.

Also, I will start blogging here as to what has been going on in my life rather than sending out emails. So, be checking in here every week...I will try to post something every week.
